The Mid-Atlantic area used to be a hotbed for pro wrestling. Before my existence, weekly wrestling shows used to be held at a local venue, Starland Arena, as well as in one of our local TV studios. Growing up, I used to watch wrestling from every wrestling promotion I could. If the TV was on, chances are I was watching WWF (WWE), NWA, AWA, World Class…some form of wrestling. Watching it on TV so much is what gave me the dream of being a professional wrestler. Little did I know that there was a professional wrestling school just 28 miles from my house.

Body Slams, Beer Jerky, & Beer is the story of my wrestling career as an independent professional wrestler under the name Drake Tungsten. Come along on a journey as you are taken through my childhood dream of becoming a professional wrestler and living that dream for over two decades.

You will hear stories of my first introduction into the world of professional wrestling and how a random opportunity as a ring announcer at a local independent show jumpstarted my career that took me to being one half of the longest reigning NWA North American Tag Team Champions in history and appearing as an extra on WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
